Idina Menzel’s talent, career, and critical acclaim have skyrocketed since her performing debut as the original Maureen Johnson in Broadway’s RENT only a little over 10 years ago. In 2003, the actress, singer and song-writer introduced the world to the character of Elphaba in Steven Schwartz’s Wicked. Menzel was awarded a Tony Award for Best Actress for her performance in this musical. Since that time, she has reprised her role of Maureen Johnson in the film adaptation of Rent and played a leading role in the 2007 box-office hit, Enchanted. Brave, her first single off the record reached Top 20 on the Adult Contemporary chart this past March.
