Formed in 1989, Dervish’s first album won widespread critical acclaim and was described as “a landmark Irish traditional album.” The group soon became one of the most sought after acts on the live music circuit worldwide and has remained so over the years. Its second album reached number one in the Irish Folk Music Charts and World/Roots music charts internationally and stayed on top for several months cementing Dervish’s status as the pre-eminent Irish traditional band.
