Playing piano since age 9, Buckwheat Zydeco came to the limelight in 1984 with his "Zydeco Boogaloo," one of the genre’s signature songs. An electrifying performer and expert keyboards and accordion player, Buckwheat is an innovator who crafted a bold new sound for zydeco. Most lately, he recorded two Bob Dylan songs with Yo La Tengo for the 2007 film “I’m not There.”
"A hot band playing at the top of their game," says Living Blues, while People Magazine talks about “propulsive, rollicking dance party music…a swamp-boogie joy ride."
