| Celebrate 73 years of great programming at the Wisconsin Union Theater! Free!
Join us for a free party just before the historic venue closes for two years of renovations. Festivities include stilt walkers, opportunities to try on costumes or become part of the Union Theater's celebrated history by signing its historic Green Room door, archival displays, videos, tours of the theater's hidden nooks and crannies, appearances by Bucky Badger and a Lynn Fontanne impersonator (Fontanne, with her husband Alfred Lunt, played in Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" on the theater's opening night in 1939), and the chance of a lifetime to sing on the theater's stage (as so many great artists have done in the past) as part of Gomeroke! You can record your Wisconsin Union Theater memories and rumor is the theater's ghost might make an appearance too! Bring the whole family or come with a friend for this free public event before the theater reopens in time for its 75th anniversary in September 2014.
