The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble was created in
1967 to perform larger chamber works, from quintets to octets. Drawn from principal players of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber
orchestra, this Ensemble is a string octet. Touring worldwide, and with over 30 CDs to its name, the ensemble is known for its refined musical
performances.
“The performance by the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble was well-characterized, fervently committed and admirably exact” says the London Times. “Just about beyond criticism, in fact.”
